About Jo-Ann Stewart

Principal Solicitor / Director

Jo-Ann Stewart is Haven Family Law’s Principal Solicitor and Director. She has experience across complex parenting and property matters, including high-conflict and international family law disputes. Known for her thorough preparation, careful analysis of evidence and strong advocacy, Jo-Ann provides clear, realistic advice and practical strategies focused on achieving the best available outcome.

Scott Williams

Director

Scott Williams is a Director of Haven Family Law and practises exclusively in family law and domestic and family violence. With previous experience working at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Scott brings a practical understanding of the Court system and a strategic, resolution-focused approach to family law disputes. He has experience across parenting matters and complex property and financial proceedings.

Scott Williams is a family lawyer practising exclusively in family law and domestic and family violence matters, providing considered, strategic advice to clients navigating complex and often highly sensitive circumstances. He was admitted to practice in December 2022, having completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland and his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law. He holds a current practising certificate.

Scott previously worked at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in Brisbane, where he developed a detailed understanding of the Court’s processes and the practical realities of litigation. This experience informs a disciplined and pragmatic approach to practice, with a focus on early resolution and the avoidance of unnecessary litigation wherever appropriate.

He takes a balanced, results-driven approach, providing clear and concise advice and working closely with clients to resolve matters efficiently. Scott recognises that family law matters are not only legal disputes but deeply personal experiences, and is committed to guiding clients through them with clarity and confidence.

Outside of practice, Scott values time with his three children, his two border collies, and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle.
